Wacom Rocks

Hello everyone! I am writing this blog with Windows Vista's handwriting recognition software and my Wacom tablet. It's pretty well responsive I only have to fix one or two letters per line I write. Well, once I get used to this more I will use it to post more.

3D Character Animation Final

Here's my final for Character animation! I thought it was pretty good so I figured I would show you guys. Let me know what you think! Eventually I will put a gallery page up on my website with everything on there but that won't be for a while when I actually have some free time.

I had my last class at AIP on Thursday! That was just excellent. Leaving class that night released so much stress.. so good.

Well I have a crap load of stuff to do today.

New Environment

Today, I got inspiration for a new environment. It is going to be a nightclub/restaurant/concert venue. Here's some renders of how I have it set-up for the layout. Obviously there's no lights or textures in the scene yet, or finished models for that matter. The only thing that's mostly roughed out is the stage.

Close up of the bar

This is an early view of what it will look like from the VIP tables in the restaurant half of the place. Should be a pretty sweet place to sit!

Let me know what you think!!

Washington DC Trip pics!!

So, this week we decided we wanted to go to Washington DC. It was Jess, our friend Kate, and myself. Kate will be doing an internship there so we wanted to make sure she got acquainted to the city and the Metro system. Well, we ended up being 100% tourists on Tuesday.

We left Pittsburgh Monday night about 5:15pm and got to DC about 10 pm. We decided we wanted to do a couple things before going to bed so we went in to town and checked out the Mall where you can walk around and look at the Capitol and Washington Monument all lit up all nice.

The next day we literally must have walked at least 20 miles. It was exhausting. Here's the typical shot of the White House.

Some cool random art.

"RAR."

Another beautiful shot of Jess smelling the flowers.

Really cool shot of a fountain at a castle.

After much more walking and Metro riding we checked out Ford's theatre.

There was a sweet wax museum again! Only this one was way better cuz they had THE MAN Sam Jackson.

Obama!

Beautiful sunset across the Tidal Basin.

Checkin out Thomas Jefferson

I love the sun hitting the monuments.

Good ol' Lincoln memorial.

Sweet reflection pool shot

The sun was setting at the perfect time that we were there. The clouds were leaving, too, so helped bring in some more blues and purples to help contrast the oranges the sun was leaving on the stone and the lights in the monuments casted.

All in all, another super fun trip! Now time to rest!

It's All Lies...

Well, by now you probably have heard me talking about how I was going to be working on a PS3 game with a company called Kaiser Himmel. It turns out that the man who owns the company has just been detained by the FBI for attempting to defraud a couple banks out of millions of dollars.

His real name is Eric Ashley Lemon, but I met him as Eric Skys. He came to my school to ask about recruiting students to work on his video game "Dead Factor." My school invited him out to portfolio review to check out student work and possibly interview some people. I was one of eight people he interviewed that day. Everyone got a weird vibe off of him. Start up video game companies don't usually have body guards at their side.

Well, anyways. This guy is a con artist. I'm glad that we found out about what he was doing before any of us signed contracts with them. I'm also glad that I haven't graduated yet and that there is another portfolio review at which I can possibly get a more reliable contact.

I guess that happens sometimes...

Here's an article if you want to read more about the situation.

What a guy...
